Listening Back

Thanks, everyone, for a really interesting conversation.

In case you missed the show — or want to hear the dulcet tones of Ros and Mark again — here’s an MP3 for streaming or downloading (just click for the former, right-click and “Save Target As” to do the latter).

Getting the conversation started

After trips to Mumbai, Lahore, Brussels, and Kokomo, Indiana — and that’s just in the last month or so  — World Have Your Say is returning to Oregon.

(In case you haven’t heard WHYS, they’re the BBC World Service show that strives to put the talk of the globe, as filtered through the daily pulse of the web, on the air each day. You can hear them on OPB Monday through Friday from 10-11am. There’s more info in their FAQ here.)

They’ll be here for some live shows — in Portland’s Pioneer Square, and at Momma Jane’s Pancake House in The Dalles (how did they choose the Dalles? Because a listener told them that’s where blue Oregon meets red Oregon. And so they’re going).

They’ve also agreed to let us turn the microphones around and ask them the questions — to let WHYS have its say.

On Tuesday, June 9th host Ros Atkins will sit down with us from 1-2pm. Founding producer Mark Sandell will join us from London.

This is where you come in. You can join the live conversation with your calls and comments. And you can kick-start it right now, right here.

What do you like about World Have Your Say? What would you change?

Are you a longtime listener? When does the show really work for you? When does it let you down?

Oregon public, have your say.
